Arizona Costume Institute, the support group for the fashion design department of Phoenix Art Museum, will host a virtual unveiling of the new Geoffrey Beene Archive at Phoenix Art Museum. One of New York's most awarded fashion designers, Beene was recognized for his artistic and technical acuity creating highly complex and colorful garments that explored the relationship between fabric and the human body. This virtual event will be the first presentation of the Museum’s Beene archive, which features more than 400 garments. With live discussions with Beene Archive donor Patsy Tarr and Deanna McBrearty, former ballerina and Beene’s longtime model, this special celebration will introduce guests to the inherent grace and movement of Geoffrey Beene’s garments.

All donations will support the Beene Archive at Phoenix Art Museum, fashion related education programs through ACI, and Phoenix Art Museum.

Limited Opportunity: Contribute your support of $1,000 or more before January 25, 2021 and be invited to an exclusive virtual viewing of key archive pieces with Helen Jean, the Jacquie Dorrance curator of fashion design at Phoenix Art Museum.
